Official certificates

PEFC certification
XtraChêne is proud to have obtained PEFC certification in July 2013.
The PEFC mark, which is stamped on oak-based products, certifies that both the owner of the forest and the company are committed to implementing sustainable forest-management practices.

What does PEFC mean? What are the implications in terms of sustainable development? Why did XtraChêne want to be certified?? All of the answers are here...

Present in 36 countries, The PEFC Council, based in Geneva, is the organization embodying the PEFC program internationally.

PEFC promotes sustainable forest management. From the forest to the finished product, the PEFC certification system requires each link in the forest-based sector to follow specific rules and controls their compliance.

Throughout the chain of processing and distribution, companies must, in turn, set up a chain of custody. For example, companies commit to the use of certified PEFC only with inventory traceability and to employ only registered workers.

The reliability of the PEFC certification system is based on audits carried out on the ground. Affixed to a wood-based product, the PEFC label attests to the commitment of the forest owner and the company to implement sustainable forest management practises.
